Event types are totally configurable by the user and unlike other programs, DVCoach allows multiple criteria or qualifiers for an event to be described. For example, a shot made in basketball could have the shot as the primary event, and the player as a qualifier, location as the second qualifier, and then the shot type as another qualifier (eg. Layup, Jump), etc.

Once the event and qualifier structure is defined it can be re-used as a template for all games. Events can be easily logged in real time during the game, (with or without digital video being captured at the same time), or after the game, either capturing the video at the same time or using pre captured video.

DVCoach has the option of importing or exporting data from 3rd party applications, either during or after the game, subject to the capabilities of the other application. For importing, it could be form a real time stats logging programs sourced from a central service or even a PDA.
